PRIVACY POLICY OF ALVANA MICROFINANCE BANK LIMITED
1, INTRODUCTION/SCOPE
This document describes how Alvana Microfinance Bank complies with the privacy rights on collection, use, storage, sharing and protection of the banks customer’s data/information.
This policy also ensures that the personal data of Individuals collected is processed in compliance with NDPA.
2. ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Alvana Microfinance Bank data Protection Officer (DPA) is responsible for ensuring that this document is correct and updated regularly. The DPO also ensures that customers are duly notified before the collection and processing of personal information by Alvana Microfinance Bank including the website. All staff of the bank who handles customer’s data must ensure to follow the provisions in this policy.

Alvana Microfinance bank has resolved to be committed in protecting the privacy and security of our customer’s personal data.

The Alvana Microfinance Bank is a Unit tier 1 Microfinance bank located in Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, Owerri, Imo State. The Alvana Microfinance Bank ensures that the data collected is solely meant for the purpose of collection and shall not process more data than is required for a particular processing activity.
5. LEGAL BACKING FOR PROCESSING OF DATA
Alvana Microfinance Bank ensures that legal backing for processing personal data are identified and documented.
6. PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA BASED ON CONSENT
Alvana Microfinance Bank ensures that processing of personal data is based on consent in line with data protection Act/Policy. If any customer did not consent for the collection such customer/individual should not be allowed to enjoy the services of Alvana Microfinance Bank where applicable.
6.1 WITHDRAWAL OF CONSENT
An Individual can withdraw his consent at anytime by making a withdrawal of consent request.
Alvana Microfinance Bank ensures that the data subject (customer, client, visitor, vendor, staff or third party) has withdrawn consent to the processing of his/her personal data with a written Instruction.

Transaction documents/data will be retained for a minimum period of five (5 years) in line with CBN regulation. However when a personal data is no longer required, Alvana Microfinance Bank will destroy the data from her records.
10. COMPLAINTS
In an event whereby a vendor, customer, staff wishes to make a complaint about how Alvana Microfinance Bank handles their personal data, they are under obligation to lodge a complaint directly to Alvana Bank Data Protection Officer or through the banks official email.
